Don’t read on if you’ve yet to watch in case of spoilers.
Just finished it on iPlayer. I was quite disappointed with it, on the whole. For me, the two plot lines kept interrupting each other rather than one being subservient to the other. Some silly plot holes, poor pacing, lack of real tension and annoying twists round every corner.

It was left open for Alice's return as it wasn't confirmed that she was dead. However, Ruth Wilson's stock is rising steadily and may have bigger fish to fry.

It is what it is. Completely unrealistic and full of cliches. I mean, they are in London and shootings go on without any witnesses. No people, no cars driving past. I’ve never seen London streets so quiet.
Having said all that, it’s still enjoyable.

Avoided reading this thread whilst I caught up, I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought it was poor. Lots holes and seemed like it was rushed together.. thought we might get some closure but looks like it’s left open for series (not fucking season btw) 6. Which I won’t be watching.
Idris also isn’t a great actor, abiltity wise is he is pigeonholed to certain roles. A black Ray Winstone or Michael Caine if you were.

Having watched again on Netflix, I'd forgotten how tedious that storyline was where he rescued that teenage porn artiste and she hung around his gaff for a bit. Her and her moody ingrate of a mother really grated on me. Boring, pointless plot subplot.

not sure how i feel about series 5, some parts were brilliant but i felt let down by the ending........... it all went a bit James Bond with machine guns & hitmen & shoot outs.

After being away for 2 weeks I completed it last night.
A few pointers, I refuse to believe that the lovely Alice is dead, I hope to see her back to her devious best in a wheelchair in the future !
Secondly, disappointed about Benny & George characters being effectively written out, well Benny at least !
The serial killer chappy, the one who fled his house with nothing, seemed to have access to a lot of masks, and general stuff pretty easiiy !

Good programme at its peak. But cant forgive Elba for using the race card as to why he isn't west ham despite coming from Newham.

Yeah agreed I wasn't massively impressed with the newest series.
Have gone back and started watching it from the beginning this week, the earlier episodes are far better.
